Notice of Road Closures for the Meet Me Downtown 5K Run starting May 30, 2026

Beginning May 30, there will be road closures on 6th Avenue, Stone Avenue, and surrounding streets in Downtown Tucson due to the Meet Me Downtown event. The event will take place near the Children’s Museum (200 S. 6th Avenue), with activities and staging surrounding the area.

Road Closure Details

Set-Up Closures (Starting around 3:00 PM):

  • 6th Avenue between 12th Street and 13th Street

Full Race Route Closures (Starting around 5:30–5:45 PM):

  • 6th Avenue and Stone Avenue extending south to 18th Street

Additional Impacts:

  • Meter closures on 6th Avenue between 12th and 14th Street
  • Limited access on 12th Street west of 6th Avenue

Reopening Times
Roads will begin reopening around 8:45 PM, with full reopening expected by 10:00 PM.

Traffic Alert – Downtown Links Project Church Avenue Closure

Beginning Monday, May 11 through Tuesday, May 12, 2026, crews will complete paving work for the new Sixth Street underpass between Main Avenue and Stone Avenue as part of the final phase of the Downtown Links Project.

Road Closure

  • Church Avenue will be closed between Main Avenue and Perry Avenue
  • Closure will be in effect during work hours only

Work Hours

  • Approximately 5:30 AM – 1:30 PM each day

Church Avenue is expected to reopen on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
