Details
Ward 6’s Summer Stampede is a screen-free, analog adventure inspired by Japan’s Eki Stamp tradition. The program highlights special locations throughout Ward 6 in Tucson, Arizona, where unique stamps are hidden in plain sight, celebrating local flora, small businesses, parks, artists, and city services while encouraging exploration and discovery.
Open to people of all ages, anyone can pick up a Summer Stampede 2026 booklet or postcard, refer to this map on the City of Tucson website and collect unique stamps designed by local artists, businesses and Ward 6 staff.
New stamps will be added throughout the summer, so keep an eye on the Ward 6 newsletter and Instagram page for updates.
How to Participate
1. Stop by the Ward 6 office at 3202 E 1st St to grab a booklet, postcard, or both! While there, you can get your first stamp!
2. Check out the Summer Stampede Map to find locations of Stamps. Click on the stars to see the location, summaries of the location, and special hints to where the stamp will be found.
3. Stamps and ink pads will be attached to structures (i.e. benches, tables, poles, etc) and in a plastic container. Please be sure to keep all items together so others can come by and use them.
4. Choose where you’d like to make your stamp, then move onto the next one!
5. Share your stamp collection on social media and tag @tucsonschubert, or share a photo or story of your Eki Stamp adventure via email at ward6@tucsonaz.gov. Please note, we may ask to include any images or stories in the Ward 6 newsletter.
We know that summers are hot in Tucson, and that getting outside can be difficult. But we are hoping this activity shows some fun and unique public and green spaces places that make Tucson special. This is a great activity to do while enjoying a local park, on a morning walk, or using some of the different modes of transportation around town!
