Details

Bouguereau was a successful French academic painter admired by Gilded Age art collectors for their home picture galleries. He was a popular teacher for hundreds of American artists and advocated for the inclusion of women in the fine art schools and ateliers of Paris. We’ll explore his artistic career through his paintings, held today in museums around the world.

Monthly lectures examine art and artists that have influenced the world, from the great classics of Europe to the art of the Southwest, to the most exciting trends in modern and contemporary art. The Tucson Museum of Art will also be open on those days, so bring the family, enjoy the Art Talk, and then wander the galleries!

Art Talks are $5 for non-members; free for TMA members and students with ID.
