Join Strolls and Stories Tours to hear the historic stories, fascinating tales, and our interesting tidbits of Tucson History! Scott, your tour guide, has a passion for a good story and really gets into the tales to bring history to life! We begin with an overview of Tucson's founding way back in 1775 and discuss our 4,000+ years of Native American history...and we learn where Tucson gets its name from - that's an interesting story! Then we see a historic Sonoran Row House and discuss these mud adobe structures in detail, and learn of an early pioneer founder who was having a substance shipped in from the Commonwealth of Kentucky - this is quite the tale!

Next, we head down Main Avenue to stroll past the mansion homes of our pioneer founders and early business leaders and learn of these families...how they even end up in Tucson is an incredible story! We see several homes designed by Henry Trost - the famous architect of the southwest! Then we round around past a historic restaurant and early female owned business in Tucson to learn several interesting tidbits of history!

Then we head into the Historic Pima County Courthouse to do the Dillinger Gang Experience...Scott, your tour guide has several interesting side stories to share about John Dillinger. Then we see where our first cathedral sat - it has a storied past, and we learn of a famous gunfighter who partied this night away in Tucson in the 1880s! From there we discover the history of our Fox Tucson Theatre, a beautiful southwest art deco designed building, and see Tucson's first skyscraper built in 1929!

We end the tour on Jácome Plaza to learn the story of the Steinfeld and Jácome families and the shopping scene they built in Downtown Tucson, including a luxury historic hotel - it's quite the story of the grand ole days of downtown shopping! Priced $35 per person.
