Opening with a reception Sat. Sept. 23rd, 7-10 pm, Etherton Gallery's new exhibition, El Sueño de Razón (The Sleep of Reason) highlights the work of Tucson artists Alice Leora Briggs and Kitty Brophy. The exhibition presents sgraffito (scratchboard) drawings about drug violence in Juárez by Briggs’ and unique word-art pigment prints about cultural stereotyping by Brophy. Brophy’s figurative Sketchbook Drawings will be on display in the gallery-pop-up, “In the Cases.” Both artists will attend the opening, and DJ Carl Hanni will be spinning tunes in the courtyard.
