In February, the Presidio Museum welcomes guest rodeo roper Adam Leon to demonstrate cowboy roping BOTH Friday and Saturday, along with a variety of cowboy activities, including roping our docile (plastic) cows, enjoying a cowboy-themed story, learning how the Spanish and early settlers took care of their livestock, hearing the history of the rodeo and why it is an important part of Tucson culture, and tinsmithing Western ornaments. Just because the Tucson Rodeo was cancelled, it doesn’t mean we can’t still celebrate Western heritage!
This monthly event is open to children of all ages but is ideal for 4-7 year olds and their families. Events may include a tour of the Presidio Museum, colonial-period games, a story time and much more! All activities are included with regular museum admission and will run from 10 am-1 pm.
Please see our COVID 19 policies to see what steps we have taken to make these activities safe for visitors and staff.
