Bring the whole family to TMA for one-of-a-kind arts experiences shaped for all ages. Every second Sunday of the month from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Family Day at TMA features a variety of art-making activities led by local artists, family-friendly gallery activities, and live performances. Explore, create, and connect while making lasting memories! Activities are free with admission.]
11:00 a.m.- Mixed Ability Flamenco Workshop by Flamenco Sonora with flamenco dancer and teaching artist Angelina Ramirez & master flamenco guitarist Misael Barraza Diaz.
12:00 p.m.- Drop- In Gallery Conversations in Fierce Bodies with Southern Arizona Phycological Association
About the workshop:
This workshop introduces participants to flamenco as both a creative expression and an essential practice for exercising the mind and body. Join flamenco teaching artist Angelina Ramirez and flamenco guitarist Misael Barraza Diaz on a journey to discover the deep roots of flamenco through movement, music, and rhythm. Participants will learn basic flamenco techniques and short phrases specifically designed to be modified for both sitting and standing participation.
Whether you are looking to explore a new culture or engage in gentle, rhythmic exercise, this workshop provides a supportive environment to discover the strength and empowerment of the flamenco art form.
