The curse of La Llorona! Solve a murder mystery steeped in Mexican folklore.
Several people have been found dead along the Santa Cruz River. Superstition is taking over and there are rumors going around that this is the work of the famous ghost, La Llorona (the weeping woman). During this Living History event, visitors will find clues around the Presidio Museum and with various re-enactors to solve the mystery of who or what is behind the mysterious deaths.
In addition to this activity, the Living History event will also include:
**The story of La Llorona in the Zaguan plus a temporary exhibit on La Llorona in the south Gift Shop Exhibit Hall.
**Re-enactors telling the story of the Buffalo Soldiers and the Wham Payroll Robbery
**Victorians & Death: a display on their traditions and customs
**A variety of demonstrations that may include blacksmithing, soldier drills and Presidio-era childrens’ games.
