Found in Translation looks beyond the romantic image of the troubadour as a wandering minstrel to the complex aristocratic culture from which this repertory emerged. The songs of troubadours and trobairitz combine sophisticated words and music, expressing love, joy, regret and loss while also preserving attitudes that demand critical attention today, including misogyny, racism and violence
