Viva Dia de Los Muertos! Glow-in-the-dark Dance Spectacular dance celebration that explains the true meaning of Mexico’s Day Holiday through multi-media, dance, and music. Julie Gallego, Artistic Director of Viva Performing Arts Center has created the first and only original 2-hour glow-in-the-dark Día de Los Muertos Production. There is no other show like it in the United States or Mexico.
Día de Los Muertos is a time to honor ancestors and loved ones that have gone to the spirit world. Celebrations are held after Halloween on Nov. 1 and 2 which are two major Catholic holy days, All Saints Day and All Souls Day.
Viva Dia de Los Muertos! features dancers from Ballet Folklorico Arizona and Ballet Folklorico San Juan performing traditional Day of the Dead dances from various regions of Mexico and contemporary dances that have transformed this holiday into a true blend of cultures throughout the world.
