Want to plant a winter vegetable and fruit garden? Now is the time to get started! Winter is the best time for gardening in the Sonoran Desert. By the hand of our Heritage Gardens Manager Dena Cowan, learn how to plan your garden, select appropriate varieties for this region, find seeds, prepare and amend the soil, protect your crops from predators, harvest and save seeds, care for fruit trees, and much more. The workshop will include explanations, demonstrations, hands-on practice and a packet of local heirloom seeds to get started. $35 for Presidio Museum Members, $45 for non-members. Pre-registration required.
