Founded in 1986, Ballet Tucson is Southern Arizona's premier professional ballet company — and downtown Tucson is where the magic happens. Led by Tucson native and Artistic Director Margaret Mullin alongside Associate Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer Chieko Imada, Ballet Tucson brings world-class dance to the heart of our city.

Each season, Ballet Tucson's professional dancers take the downtown stage five times, offering performances that span the full range of the art form — from the grandest holiday tradition of all — The Nutcracker with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra — to boundary-pushing works by celebrated choreographers including Justin Peck, George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, and Andrea Schermoly. There's always something new to discover, and always a reason to come back. Plus, Ballet Tucson offers special Community Night and Beer and Ballet events on Saturday nights at all concerts held at the Temple of Music and Art to make your evening even more special!

Beyond the concert stage, Ballet Tucson is woven into the fabric of Tucson's cultural life. Free pop-up performances bring dance into unexpected spaces, while programs like Best Foot Forward, the Ballet Banter lecture series, and KidzTIX — which provides free tickets to students at Title 1 schools — ensure that ballet belongs to everyone.

Whether you're a lifelong ballet lover or experiencing it for the first time, Ballet Tucson invites you downtown to be moved.
