Category DTP Updates

Look up! New American flags now fly above downtown's streets, creating a festive backdrop for summer holidays and community celebrations.

A simple gesture that adds a little extra pride to downtown.

Keep your eyes up the next time you're downtown! You might notice a few new additions of the patriotic variety. American flags are now flying from downtown's banner poles and select business buildings, celebrating Independence Day, American's 25th Anniversary, and Labor Day while adding a splash of red, white, and blue to the streetscape.

As one of Downtown Tucson Partnership's latest placemaking initiatives, American flags have been installed along downtown's banner poles and select business buildings in honor of Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, while also commemorating America's 250th anniversary. Stretching from Congress Street to surrounding downtown corridors, the flags add a vibrant touch of red, white, and blue while creating a festive atmosphere throughout the district. Historic buildings like the United States Bankruptcy Court and the Tucson Federal Building have also joined in the celebration, helping create a patriotic backdrop that extends throughout downtown.

Sometimes it's the little things that leave the biggest impression. Whether you're celebrating the summer holidays, supporting local businesses, or simply enjoying a walk through downtown, these new flags are another reminder that every detail plays a part in making downtown feel welcoming, lively, and uniquely Tucson.

So the next time you're strolling through downtown, take a moment to look up. You just might spot one of Downtown Tucson Partnership's newest additions waving overhead.
