Downtown Tucson Apartments in partnership with Presidio Tucson Sponsor Lunch Hour Round of DTP Gift Card Incentive Program – Friday, May 15 at noon!

DOWNTOWN TUCSON, AZ, May 13, 2020Downtown Tucson Apartments in partnership with Presidio Tucson are stepping up to sponsor Round 7 of the DTP Gift Card Incentive Program. Round 7 goes live Friday, May 15 at noon. “Downtown businesses are so grateful for the continued support from the community. We thought a lunch hour round would be appropriate seeing there is still quite an appetite for the downtown gift cards.  We expect this round to sell out over the lunch hour.” said Kathleen Eriksen, President & CEO of the Downtown Tucson Partnership.

Under the program, people buy a gift card worth $35 for only $25. That $10 bonus incentive is made possible through the support of a sponsor. Previous sponsors include the Downtown Tucson Partnership, Rio Nuevo (2 rounds), HSL Properties (2 Rounds), and Bourn Companies. Each sponsorship is $12,500 covering the cost of the $10 bonus for 1,000 cards per round in addition to administrative, processing and postage fees. Since the program began on April 3, $87,500 has been raised in sponsorships, including $12,500 from Downtown Tucson Apartments and Presidio Tucson. These local sponsorship dollars, combined with the amazing support from the community, will result in approximately $245,000 infused directly into downtown businesses between seven rounds.

“Participating in the gift card program was an easy decision to make and we encourage the community to take this opportunity to join us in supporting sustainable growth amongst our hard working downtown community!” said Crystal Moore, Designated Broker/Principal of Presidio Tucson. “The uniqueness of Downtown Tucson’s many retailers, restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues are largely responsible for the extreme residential growth in the area over the last eight years. This desert hub has generated a sense of gratitude from our residents, whose lives have become increasingly flexible by hopping on the streetcar or on their own two feet to visit their favorite local spots.”

Nearly 60 businesses are participating, including your favorite restaurants, museums, breweries, boutiques, hotels, grocers, salons, spas, gyms and more. Find a list of participating businesses on DowntownTucson.org.

Businesses rely on this program to stay afloat. “This program is giving our small and simple restaurant the funds we need to reopen our business after being dormant for so long. The promised funds offered through the federal government to cover payroll, rent and other bills have yet to arrive. Without this tangible money being given on a weekly basis our business of 35 years would surely die," stated Marcela Davila-Barley, co-owner of The Little One.
