Downtown Tucson Partnership Launches INFO on the GO


Downtown Tucson, AZ, July 24, 2018 – Downtown Tucson Partnership is welcoming visitors in a whole new way with the mobile visitor center, INFO on the GOINFO on the GO is a motorized bicycle scheduled to be stationed at events, high foot traffic areas, and public spaces throughout Downtown Tucson this summer. INFO on the GO will be staffed by volunteer ambassadors. Visitor information, guides, water and DTP branded swag will be offered to Downtown visitors.


INFO on the GO will provide informational literature specific to Downtown Tucson businesses including food and drink establishments, shopping, museums, art galleries, tours and other unique destinations. Ambassadors will also be able to answer accessibility questions related to metered street parking, parking garages, Sun Link streetcar, Tugo bike share program and walking directions.


“Our goal is to create a friendly and welcoming environment Downtown while offering valuable information. We want to create a memorable experience and encourage return visits,” stated Kathleen Eriksen, CEO of the Downtown Tucson Partnership.


The motorized bicycle was donated by Herbert Residential. Downtown Tucson Partnership refurbished the bicycle, coated the frame in DTP purple, and added a brochure box. The brochure box will be able to hold numerous guides and marketing materials as well as free water bottles, sunscreen packets and other free merchandise.


You can experience INFO on the GO, Thursday, July 26th, in Jacome Plaza, from 10 am-4 pm, during Food Truck Thursday featuring a mariachi performance starting at 11:30 am.


Also, on Thursday in Jacome Plaza, City High School in coordination with Downtown Tucson Partnership will host a field day for City High’s Summer Bridge Program at 2 pm. Summer Bridge helps integrate incoming freshmen and transfer students into the City High community. Students will participate in field day games like tug-o-war and water games to stay cool in the heat. Jacome Plaza will be bustling on Thursday, with several lively activities for the entire community.
