Downtown Tucson Partnership Launches The Downtown Experience: A Seasonal Museum Series with Three After-Hours Events
The Downtown Experience occurs on the last Friday of every month throughout the warm summer months: June 26, July 31, and August 28
TUCSON, AZ (May 28 , 2026) — Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP) is bringing together four of the city's cultural institutions for an evening series this summer. The Downtown Experience occurs on the last Fridays of June, July and August (June 26, July 31 and Aug. 28) with after-hours programming, art, hands-on demonstrations and a reason to make a full night of it downtown. The experience is sponsored by Pima County.
The series is designed for a summer evening downtown. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early for dinner, take in museum programming and exhibits, and close the night with drinks or dessert, building their own itinerary across the district. It’s the perfect way to spend warm summer nights as an individual to take in the art after work, a couple for date night or even as a family instead of another night of streaming.
Programming varies each month. Check individual museum calendars or visit DTP’s Downtown Experience site for more details.
"This collaboration reflects what makes downtown Tucson so special: a closely connected creative community offering incredible cultural experiences just steps from another,” says Anne Breckenridge Barrett, Jon and Linda Ender Director and CEO at the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block “At TMA, we’re excited to partner with our fellow downtown museums to offer summer evenings that are lively, inspired, and a powerful reminder that museums are vibrant places you will want to visit regularly.”
Fire & Ice Night | Presidio San Agustin del Tucson Museum | 196 N. Court Ave.
The Presidio San Agustin del Tucson Museum and Brandylion Spirits present Fire and Ice Nights on June 26, July 31 and Aug. 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. June's focus is fire. Docent-led lantern tours and blacksmithing demonstrations by Xerocraft set the scene, with more programming to come each month. Included with regular museum admission and free for members. Enter through the main museum entrance. At the Brandylion, find alcoholic and non-alcoholic slushies, flaming brandies and other spirits. It's a family-friendly evening with something for everyone.
Momentos | Tucson Museum of Art | 140 N. Main Ave.
Tucson Museum of Art (TMA) hosts Momentos, a summer series celebrating the intersection of art and community. Each evening centers on the Arizona Biennial 2026, with programming exploring themes of power and place. On June 26, artist Lex Gjurasic leads a semi-guided conversation on her work beginning at 5:00 PM, followed by a flower self-portrait drawing workshop on TMA's terrace. DJ Clamato provides the soundtrack. Guests can enjoy a cash bar with beer and wine, complimentary bar snacks, and vegan ice cream and treats by Nice Dreams. Momentos is included with admission and is free for TMA members. Use code MOMENTOS for 20% off a new membership.
Bubble Bash | Children's Museum Tucson | 200 S. 6th Ave.
Children's Museum Tucson bubbles up with after-hours fun beginning June 26 with Bubble Bash. Giant bubbles in the courtyard, a foam cannon, bubble machines, bubble lawn mowers and a body-sized bubble maker for a super summer cool evening kids and adults won't stop talking about. Budding bubble artists can also make their own bubble snakes and bubble wands. Admission is $12 per person; children under 12 months are free. Members always get in free. All activities are included with admission. The fun continues on July 31 with Splash, a water play takeover of the courtyard, and wraps up on August 28 with Slime Smash.
Tucson Jewish Museum & Holocaust Center | 564 S. Stone Ave.
The Tucson Jewish Museum & Holocaust Center welcomes visitors during regular hours throughout the summer series. They are open Wednesday through Sunday, 1:00 to 5:00 PM.
“Downtown Tucson has always been a place where culture and community meet,” said Crystal Moore, Downtown Tucson Partnership’s CEO and President. “The Downtown Experience is a celebration of that energy, bringing together a selection of downtown museums and cultural institutions for summer evenings filled with art, history, discovery, and activity across the district.”
