Entertainment Lineup for the Mister Car Wash 25th Annual Parade of Lights

A multicultural celebration of music, culture and light!

Don’t miss the Mister Car Wash 25th Annual Parade of Lights & Festival on November 30

DOWNTOWN TUCSON, AZ, November 26, 2019 – Celebrate the holidays Tucson-style at the 25th Annual Parade of Lights & Festival, a colorful, multicultural display of lights, music and creativity sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

“The 25th Annual Parade of Lights & Festival is one of the many things that make this community shine,” said Megan Everett, Director of Marketing for Mister Car Wash, the event’s title sponsor. “It’s our way of celebrating the rich culture and traditions of the city that we’re proud to call home.”

Festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. in Jácome Plaza with multicultural entertainment including Chinese folklore singers, Asian theme lanterns and a dancing mystic dragon from the Chinese Cultural Center. This will be followed by a returning Tucson favorite, Mariachi Los Amigos.

At 5:30, Mayor Johnathan Rothschild and Mister Car Wash will light the giant community tree during the Tree Lighting Ceremony on the Main Stage in Jácome Plaza. Native American Dancing from the Aztec dance group, Calpulli Tonantzin will get the crowd energized and ready for the arrival of the parade!

Food and beverage vendors will be open, and more than 30 classic cars decorated with lights will be on static display along Pennington Street next to the plaza.

The parade itself begins at 6:30 p.m. This year’s parade route starts on the corner of Stone Avenue and Toole Avenue and heads south down Stone Avenue, heads east on Pennington Street, heads north on 6th Avenue and makes its final stride down Toole Avenue.

The juried selection of entries went through a rigorous review process, resulting in a high-quality lineup of brilliantly lit floats, walking groups, bands, dancers, bicyclists and more.

Music and dancing under the stars to the Latin fusion sounds of Santa Pachita will round out the night’s entertainment from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Santa Pachita, performing for the third year at the festival, is a 9-piece band (including congas, flute and trumpet) that blends a variety of musical styles such as ska, cumbia, rumba and salsa to create their unique and energetic sound.

Free streetcar rides will be provided all day long! More information about the Mister Car Wash 25th Annual Parade of Lights & Festival is on Downtown Tucson Partnership’s website.

Additional support for the parade is provided by: City of Tucson, TEP, Razor and Cox Media.
