Free Streetcar Rides on Small Business Saturday, November 30th
Ride Sun Link and shop local in Tucson districts
Tucson, AZ, November 27, 2019, Press Release via Sun Tran – This Saturday, November 30th, holiday shoppers can take part in Small Business Saturday and ride the streetcar for free all day. The free streetcar service begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday and ends at 2 a.m.
The free Sun Link rides are sponsored by Downtown Tucson Partnership, Fourth Avenue Merchants Association, Main Gate Square and the Mercado District.
Small Business Saturday celebrates the contributions local businesses have on the economy and workforce, and shopping locally is a great way to give back to the community. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, $0.67 of every dollar spent at small businesses stays local.
Shoppers can find holiday promotions and deals offered by local retailers and business throughout the districts. Fourth Avenue is hosting ‘Fall for Fourth’ all weekend that includes Small Business Saturday deals on the Avenue. The Mercado District invites visitors to shop their ‘radical’ retailers and restaurants, plus live music and CREAM screen-printing will take place throughout the day. Families can visit Santa, at Main Gate Square from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and stroll through the shops.
Downtown Tucson is hosting the 25th Annual Parade of Lights on Saturday, November 30th. Festivities will take place at Jácome Plaza, beginning at 4:30 p.m., and include live entertainment, a classic car show, and the tree lighting ceremony prior to the parade.
Free street-parking is available in downtown, the Mercado District, and along 4th Avenue. All University of Arizona garages (except Second Street Garage) are free that weekend. Visit the Sun Link website or UA Parking & Transportation Services for more parking information.
