Stews Shoes is hosting TWO Playformance Parties for children with disabilities at PLAYFORMANCE downtown!

This is a play party for children with disabilities. If you sign up, please commit to attending or contact us asap if you will not be able to attend at pennymuir@yahoo.com. We are limited to 20 spots so ask that only children with disabilities between the ages of 5-15 take a spot. Families are invited to enjoy refreshments on the patio during the play session. If you feel your child would not be able to participate without extra support, please sign up and then contact Penny at pennymuir@yahoo.com asap to discuss options. Participants will be required to sign a waiver (from Stews Shoes as well as the facility) and comply with all of the rules of the facility including any COVID protocols in place at the time of the event which may include wearing a mask indoors.

Party 1 @ 10:30am

Party 2 @ 1:30pm

Stews Shoes is a 501(c)3 organization that was formed to serve families of children with disabilities. In the past we have distributed adaptive shoes and clothing to Arizona families paid for through our fundraising efforts.

"I wanted to be part of the world but I didn't see anyone like me in it." -Jimmy Lebrecht

Inspired by the documentary "Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution", Stews Shoes would like to host in person gatherings for children with disabilities so they can be themselves, be social, and experience downtown Tucson on their terms. Over the last 18 months, children have been isolated to a degree never before experienced. This is even more true for children with disabilities who already tended to be isolated in many different aspects of their lives. The affects of a disability are shared with the whole family: parents who must learn and apply disability law and siblings who bear the burden of care. Let's give these kids an opportunity to just be kids and let's give these families some time to come together with a community that understands.
