Details
Since opening in 1920, the Rialto Theatre has stood as a landmark entertainment institution in downtown Tucson for over a century. As a city staple, the Rialto remains a hub of culture, arts, and performance, hosting over 200 shows annually at the original downtown location. The Rialto Theatre Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, has stewarded the Rialto in historic preservation since 2005, ensuring the theatre remains a Tucson staple for another hundred years.
Alongside our sister venue 191 Toole, the Rialto Theatre family of spaces hosts more than 350 concerts annually. Legendary performers including Gladys Knight, Jane’s Addiction, The Pixies, Kenny G., Japanese Breakfast, Iron and Wine, Phoebe Bridgers, Snoop Dogg, and Fontaines DC have played our venues over the years. With hundreds of shows a year, the Rialto drives thousands of locals and visitors alike to experience downtown Tucson arts and culture.
From the days of silent films and vaudeville stage shows, the Rialto Theatre has grown into one of the premier venues of the Southwest. Recent audio and lighting system upgrades at both the Rialto and 191 Toole have improved not only the performance spaces themselves, but have helped put the southwest on the map as must-experience venues. The mixed use theatre offers balcony seating and removable floor seating, converting the space easily to accommodate a wide variety of concerts for every member of the family.
The Rialto Theatre Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to preserving and stewarding the historic Rialto Theatre—an iconic entertainment venue at the heart of downtown Tucson. The Foundation supports the production and presentation of a broad range of performing arts, educational programs, and community-driven events that foster connections and celebrate the vibrant culture of the Southwest.
