Why was my card ‘declined’ at a participating merchant?

Most likely, your purchase exceeded the amount available on the gift card. This can be remedied by asking the merchant to ring in your other form of payment (for the difference) before swiping the gift card.

 

Can I place a tip on my Downtown Tucson Gift Card?

The Downtown Tucson Gift Card may not be used to pay for tips or other gratuities. Please tip your server using another form of payment.

 

Where can Downtown Tucson Gift Cards be purchased?

Currently, Downtown Tucson Gift Cards may only be purchased online. Place an order online here (24 hours a day / 7 days a week).

 

What payment type(s) are accepted?

Online: Visa, Discover, Master Card and American Express and Google Pay.

 

In what amounts can the gift cards be purchased?

The cards can be purchased in any denomination from $10 to $500.

 

Is there a limit to the number of gift cards that can be purchased?

No, there is no limit to the number of cards you can order. For orders of 10 cards or more there is a flat transaction fee of $25.00.

Is there a fee to purchase a gift card?

Yes – there is a $2.00 activation fee per card for orders up to 10 cards. For orders of 11 up to 49 cards, there is a $1.00 activation fee per card. For orders of 50 or more cards, there is a $25.00 flat rate. If you would like to make a large corporate order, please email giftcard@downtowntucson.org.

 

Where is the gift card accepted?

The gift card is accepted at more than 50 Downtown Tucson businesses and growing. For an updated list of participating merchants, click here.

 

Does the gift card ever expire?

Funds on your gift card do not expire. After Card Plastic Valid Thru date (listed on the back of the gift card), contact us for a no cost replacement card.

 

How do I keep track of my balance?

You can check your gift card balance at www.getmybalance.com, by calling 1.800.755.8713. You can also write in your latest balance in the space provided on the back of the card. When you use your Downtown Tucson Gift Card and receive a receipt from the merchant, view the authorization code at the bottom of your receipt; the ##X## represents your remaining balance, with the X in the middle representing the decimal point. Example: "Authorization Code: 52X02" means there is $52.02 reaming on your gift card.

 

What if I want to return items purchased with my Downtown Tucson Gift Card?

Depending on the retailer’s return policy, most participating merchants will give store credit for returns.

 

What if my card is lost/stolen?

Notify Downtown Tucson Partnership as soon as possible. Unless prohibited by law, if a replacement Card is issued for a lost, stolen or damaged card, prior to “valid thru” date, a $5.00 Replacement Card Fee may be assessed. The replacement fee, if any, will be deducted from the card balance, as long as there is a remaining balance of at least $10.00 on the card; otherwise, it will be paid by the cardholder at the time of replacement.

 

Can I redeem my gift card for cash?

Downtown Tucson Gift Cards are non-refundable and may not be redeemed for cash at anytime.

 

Can’t you just email it to me?

Downtown Tucson Gift Cards are physical cards that function similar to credit cards on the Visa platform. Merchants must swipe the card through their Point of Sale system in order to process the payment. Gift Cards must be shipped or picked up at our downtown office.
