Social Justice Committee
The Social Justice Committee oversees the creation and implementation of Downtown Tucson Partnership's (DTP) Strategic Diversity Plan 2021-2022 which outlines 6 SMART goals that represents the focus of the organization's diversity and inclusion activities over the next two years. The DTP would like to thank Tyrone A. Holmes, Ed.D, for consulting with the Social Justice Committee on the formation of the Strategic Diversity Plan and for conducting two Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Training Sessions for DTP staff, board members, and other stakeholders.

Building a Downtown Tucson for Everyone is a series of Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP) sponsored lectures, programs, and events. DTP's Social Justice Committee reviewed and awarded grants to programs presented in Downtown Tucson that demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and reach communities not traditionally served by DTP.

Overview and Details
Strategic Diversity Plan
The Strategic Diversity Plan outlines 6 SMART goals that will represent the focus of DTP's diversity and inclusion activities over the next two years. The plan includes comprehensive action plans that describe the specific steps, key participants, and completion dates needed to achieve each SMART goal.
SMART Goal #1
The Downtown Tucson Partnership will develop a diversity plan for 2021-2022, which outlines SMART goals, action steps and key participants, as demonstrated by the ability to present the plan to organizational shareholders for review and discussion.
SMART Goal #2
The Downtown Tucson Partnership will identify specific measures/metrics that will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the overall DEI initiative, as demonstrated by the ability to incorporate those measures/metrics into standard data generation practices.
SMART Goal #3
The Downtown Tucson Partnership will launch an annual curated partnership program investing (monetary and in-kind) in a diverse roster of downtown events and develop a calendar of DTP-sponsored events focused on goals outlined in the action plan.

SMART Goal #4
The Downtown Tucson Partnership will develop and implement a strategy for increasing Board diversity, as demonstrated by the ability to communicate the specific steps of this strategy to key community stakeholders.
SMART Goal #5
The Downtown Tucson Partnership will develop a strategy to recruit more diverse businesses to Downtown Tucson, as demonstrated by the ability to communicate the specific steps of this strategy to key community stakeholders.
SMART Goal #6
The Downtown Tucson Partnership will facilitate a community assessment, as demonstrated by the creation of an assessment process, and the implementation, compilation and summarization of the assessment results.
