The works in the TMA collection are never static; they evolve as we consider them from new perspectives. In this talk, Dr. Kristopher Driggers presents new findings about four objects from the Ancient and Colonial Americas, showing how research clarifies the ideas and intentions of the historical artists who created them. Looking at textiles, ceramic works, and paintings, this talk reconsiders works long held by the museum while also considering how knowledge about museum collections is created.
